Due to the collectible and often unique nature of our retro inventory, and to prevent "rental" or unauthorized copying of software, all sales are generally final.
We want you to be confident in your purchase from Hilltop Retro. If an item you purchased is found to be defective or significantly not as described at the time of purchase, we offer the following:
New Goods: Unopened new goods may be returned or exchanged for any reason in salable condition within 14 days for full refund or store credit.
Used Goods: Used goods may be returned or exchanged within 14 days for a refund or store credit less a 20% restocking fee.
Consoles & Hardware: If a console or game playing hardware is defective or non-functional within 30 days of purchase, we will attempt to repair the item, make an exchange of the same item (if available) or provide store credit equal to the purchase price, in that order. No refunds past the initial 14 day return period for new or used goods.
Games, Peripherals and Accessories: If a game, peripheral or accessory is defective or non-functional within 14 days of purchase, we will attempt to repair the item, make an exchange of the same item (if available) or provide store credit equal to the purchase price, in that order. No refunds past the initial 14 day return period for new or used goods.
Hyperkin Consoles & Accessories: New Hyperkin consoles and accessories are backed by a 1-year manufacturers warranty. It is recommended you go to https://hyperkin.com/warranty-hyperkin and register your items.
Split Refunds: There will be no partial cash/credit refunds. Refunds will only be issued via store credit or by the original payment method.
Original Condition & Contents: Items must be returned in the physical condition they were sold in, with all original components, packaging (if applicable and present at time of sale), manuals, and accessories. Any signs of tampering, disassembly, or significant physical damage not present at the time of sale (drops, spills, etc.) will void the return eligibility.
Verification of Defect: All returned items will be tested by our staff to verify the reported defect. If the item is found to be fully functional, the return or exchange may be denied for items past 7 days date of sale.
Store Credit Only for Defective Items: For qualifying defective items, refunds will be issued as store credit only, or an exchange for the identical item if available. No cash refunds will be given.
Any and All "As-Is" Sales: Any items explicitly marked and sold "AS-IS" are final sale and non-returnable, even if defective. This will be clearly indicated at the time of purchase.
Opened New Merchandise: Any new, sealed merchandise (e.g., new in box games, collectibles) that has been opened cannot be returned or exchanged unless proven to be defective at the time of sale.
Gift Certificates: Gift certificates are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Please see the Gift Certificate Policy in the next policy group for full details.

Refunds in lieu of store credit will be addressed on a case by case basis.
We reserve the right to deny any return or exchange that does not meet the criteria outlined in this policy.

Hilltop Retro is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged gift certificates. We are unable to replace them, even if you have proof of purchase.
Treat your gift certificate like cash.
Keep it in a safe place.
We cannot replace the value of a lost, stolen, or unreadable (damaged) certificate.
Present your physical gift certificate at the time of purchase.
Gift certificates are redeemable for merchandise only at Hilltop Retro in Chardon, Ohio.
They cannot be redeemed for cash, returned for a refund, or used to purchase additional gift certificates.
Gift certificates do not expire and have no dormancy fees.
